The weight of the Ristretto 512 First Edition A20 is 88 lbs, and for the A24 is 89 lbs.

Does the Ristretto 512 First Edition come in different sizes?

The Ristretto 512 First Edition is offered in two wheel sizes: A20, which includes a 20-inch wheel and a seat height of 31 3/4 inches, and A24, which includes a 24-inch wheel and a seat height of 33 3/4 inches.

Is the saddle height adjustable?

No, for the 512 First Edition A20 saddle height is 31 3/4” and the 512 First Edition A24 saddle height is 33 3/4”.

How is the Ristretto 512 First Edition delivered and how easy is to assemble?

The eBike will be delivered in a box and only the handlebar, front tires and pedals require assembly (non-professional assembly needed).

What warranty do you offer?

The Ristretto® bike is protected by a two-year warranty. If anything should fail outside normal wear and tear or rider damage, we will send you replacement parts.

Can I use the Ristretto 512 First Edition on all terrains?

Yes, the Ristretto 512 First Edition can be used on almost all bike-friendly terrains.

What material is the Ristretto 512 First Edition frame made of?

The Ristretto 512 First Edition frame is made of 6061 T6 aluminum.

How often should I have my Ristretto 512 First Edition serviced?

The Ristretto 512 First Edition should be serviced like any other bike. We recommend an annual tune-up at your local bike shop to keep your bike in top working order.

How much maintenance does the motor require?

The motor requires minimal maintenance, grease is permanent in the gearbox. Recommended to check internal components every two (2) years or every 20,000 kilometers, the grease loses its viscosity every 20,000 kilometers.

How much maintenance does the drivetrain require?

The drivetrain requires the same maintenance as other eBike drivetrain, mostly chain maintenance. The drivetrain will last 5,000 miles.

Can I upgrade the motor on my Ristretto 512 First Edition?

We are not offering a motor upgrade at the moment.

Do I need to wear a helmet to ride the Ristretto?

The use of a helmet is recommended.

I ordered several eBikes, will they come together?

Yes, if you order more than one Ristretto eBike they will arrive in the same shipment, as long as the shipment address is the same.

Is Ristretto considering adding any anti-theft measures?

Yes, we have incorporated an anti-theft slot for an Apple Air-Tag into the Catalina battery pack to enhance its security. Upon purchasing the Ristretto 512 First Edition, you will find an additional hidden slot for an Apple Air-Tag in a separate location.

Can I buy other tires separately and mount them on the Ristretto eBike?

No, the Ristretto 512 First Edition eBikes require a specialized rear hub that is specifically designed to complement the bike's overall aesthetic and other components. As such, using a different hub may negatively impact the bike's performance and overall functionality.

Does the Ristretto 512 First Edition charge by pedaling?

No, the Catalina battery is charged by plugging into a household outlet.

How do you charge the Catalina battery and how long does it take?

The Catalina battery is charged by plugging into a household outlet. The charge time is about 6-8 hours.

Will I be able to replace the Catalina battery on the Ristretto eBike?

Yes, it is possible to swap out the batteries of your Ristretto 512 First Edition with another Catalina battery pack. However, it is worth noting that the Catalina battery pack is a unique and customized product that is exclusively developed by Ristretto. If you require additional battery packs, you may place an order through our website shop.

What is the life of the battery?

Batteries can handle over 1000 cycles and up to 5 years before you may notice signs of deterioration.

Can I still ride my Ristretto eBike if the Catalina battery runs out of power?

Yes, you can pedal the Ristretto eBike.

What range can you get with the Ristretto 512 First Edition?

Please note that Race Mode should only be used on private property and is not intended for use on public roads. The most effective way of securing your eBike is by taking the traditional route of using a U-lock.

The most commonly stolen piece in an eBike is the battery, we recommend locking the battery with the key or removing it when not in use.

Can I pick up the Ristretto eBike at the factory?

No, we do not offer the option for customers to pick up their Ristretto eBikes in person. We ship all Ristretto eBikes directly to the customer's preferred delivery address for their convenience.

How is the Ristretto eBike shipped to the customer?

For Orders within the United States: We rely on a private courier service for door-to-door delivery experience. 

 For International Orders: When it comes to international shipments, we partner with a trusted freight company. It's important to mention that you are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your shipping address and covering all related costs, including taxes, duties, broker fees, and any other applicable charges.

Can the seat be removed and replaced with a different style?

Not at the moment, the seat is welded to the bike.

How long does the battery last if you ride the bike at 40 mph?

50 miles on average.

What’s the gearing for the 512?

The 512 First Edition is a single speed.

For the pedal assist, how many levels of assist are there? Also, how much pedal assist does each level provide? Exactly how much power? Is it 100% per level? Is it more or less?

There are 5 different levels of pedal assist and each level will add additional power. You can basically customize the power of each assist level of PAS and throttle power respectively via the Smart Motor App. The percentage of power will increase by each level.

What is the rated power and peak power?

The continuous operating power of the bike is chosen to be 1500W as this gives the best balance in terms of performance, battery life and thermal performance.

What type of drivetrain does the 512 utilize and what is its compatibility?

The 512 employs a specially crafted single speed drivetrain that is remarkably durable considering the bike's size and power. This system features a chain guide and a custom tensioner that work together to guide the chain and maintain tension within the system. The drivetrain is designed to work with a fixed hub that lacks a freewheel, preventing potential failure under high loads. A narrow wide profile single speed cog is affixed to the hub to prevent chain slippage or disengagement.

However, the single speed drivetrain can be replaced with a standard derailleur and cassette if desired. The frame's rear drop out conforms to the standard 177x12mm fat bike specification.

If a client decides to upgrade for a higher capacity battery. Will that affect your motor?

Motor can handle voltage between 36-72V. However, please note that if you choose to modify or replace any components of your bike, it will void the warranty.

Is there a way to disengage the power assist or ride if the battery is dead without additional drag going through the motor?

There is a one-way sprag clutch in the motor, so when you pedal without battery, the motor will not be rotated, and the bike will not have additional drag.

Does the 50-100-mile range assume skillful shifting to maximize efficiency to the motor?

100miles is in PAS mode. Also expecting you to pedal.

What's the motor operating temperature max and minimum?

• Motor and controller: software protection at 100 degrees Celsius.

• Mechanically and electrically, sustains 150 degrees Celsius.

• Minimum at minus 20 degrees with no problem.

How many watts the motor would be receiving rated for in each mode? Some of the trails I would like to ride state a maximum of 750 watts allowed.

You can customize each mode with the Smart Motor App. So, it's possible to have the street mode set at 750w peak.

Assist level has the maximum of 3 levels. They can be customized via the display. They can also customize the power of each assist level of pas and throttle power respectively via the Ristretto Smart Motor App.

Is the GPS simply a feature of the software on the app (so you could use it to track rides when you have your phone), but it's not an actual hardware GPS unit mounted on the bike that would allow for bike tracking in case of theft?

Simply a feature on the app. No GPS is mounted on the bike.

Can you tell me how many amps your controller is pulling? Does the controller use 12-watt fets, and how many fets are in the controller?

The 512 is equipped with the CYC X12 controller that has 12 mosfets and a pull up to 100A peak battery current, and delivers up to 180A of phase current.

The motor requires minimal maintenance and is recommended to check internal components every two years. Grease is permanent in the gearbox. After 2 years, open it up and have a look inside. The grease loses its viscosity every 20,000 kilometers.

The drivetrain requires maintenance as a normal eBike drivetrain, mostly chain maintenance. The drivetrain will last 5,000 miles.

Can I upgrade the motor?

We are not offering a motor upgrade at the moment.

How shipping works?

Ristretto 303FS will only be sold in the US Market. All contiguous United States orders will ship from our warehouse to your door. All continental United States orders or any other countries can be shipped from our warehouse to a Freight Forwarder. (You are responsible to provide the right address and arrange any additional charges.)

30-35 miles on average.

What’s the gearing for the front sprocket and the motor sprocket?

The CYC X1 Pro gearing will include the 11/63T option which means it has a 38T bike chainring and a 63T motor chain sprocket (219H chain).

There are 5 different levels of pedal assist and each level will add additional power. You can basically customize the power of each assist level of PAS and throttle power respectively via the Smart Motor App. The percentage of power will increase by each level.

If the motor is 3500 watts at peak; what’s the continuous rating?

BMS allows for 45a continuous and 90a peak discharge current. That is a lot more than 1500w. The BAC855 allows for 50a continuous and 60a peak. The motor can be pushed to 5000w, and the Ristretto is advertised as 3500w. But 52v x 60a (peak discharge from the BAC855) = 3120w.

How does the automatic gear shifting works? What are the components involved and what other e-bikes have the same setup/technology as the 303FS?

It doesn't have an automatic drivetrain or CVT like most cars do. Instead, you operate the gears by shifting through the 8-speed cog so it operates similar to a manual drive car but easier because all you do is click up or down on the gears without having to mess with the clutch.

There will be no effect on the motor at all. You can use any battery from 36-72V.
